Royal Brackla Distillery is located near Nairn in the Highlands of Scotland and was founded in 1812 by Captain William Fraser. It holds historical significance as the first Scotch whisky distillery to receive a Royal Warrant, granted by King William IV in 1833—a distinction that led to the use of “Royal” in its name. The distillery has changed ownership multiple times and is currently operated by John Dewar & Sons, a subsidiary of Bacardi. The distillery operates with a traditional setup, including large stills and worm tub condensers, and has a relatively modernized facility following refurbishments in recent decades.
