Raasay Distillery, on the Isle of Raasay, began production in 2017 and released its inaugural single malt in 2020. The distillery produces both peated and unpeated spirit and uses a six-cask maturation strategy—including first-fill ex-Rye whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak, and Bordeaux red wine casks. Raasay Distillery is vertically integrated: it sources water from a local spring, conducts fermentation and distillation on-site, and matures all whisky on the island. In addition, the distillery operates as a visitor destination with on-site accommodation, contributing to local tourism and employment.
