Distillerie des Menhirs, founded in 1986 in Plomelin, Brittany, by Guy Le Lay, is a family‑run French distillery known for its pioneering work in buckwheat whisky. It was among the first to produce a pure buckwheat (blé noir) spirit—launching Eddu Silver in 2002. Today, it continues operating with a distinct Breton identity, producing whisky alongside pommeau and lambig, and maintaining its tradition of using local ingredients and maturation in French oak.
