Speyburn Distillery, founded in 1897 near Rothes in Speyside, was established to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and designed by renowned architect Charles Doig. Tucked into a sheltered glen, it draws water from the Granty Burn, a tributary of the River Spey. Despite its relatively compact footprint, Speyburn operates at a large capacity and has maintained steady production through much of its history. Now owned by Inver House Distillers, it produces a light, fruit-driven Speyside style, using traditional worm tub condensers and a mix of wooden and stainless steel washbacks.
